Terms & conditions

Effective 7 August 2026

Die Datenschutzerklärung und die AGB werden nur auf Englisch veröffentlicht. Das ist die maßgebliche Fassung, und sie gilt unabhängig davon, wo du bist.

These terms are the agreement between you and us about using Buma. Installing or using the app means accepting them. If you do not, please do not use Buma.

1. Who you are contracting with

MB Marnar, company code 306991895, Kranto g. 12, Paežerių k., LT-70205 Vilkaviškio r., Republic of Lithuania. Contact: team@bumababy.app.

2. Who may use Buma

You must be at least 16 and able to enter into a contract. Buma is a tool for parents and carers, not for children.

You are responsible for what you record about a child and for having the right to record it — including where you invite someone else to see it.

3. Your account

Accounts are created through Apple or Google. Keep that account secure: anyone who can sign in as you can read and change everything in your family. Tell us at team@bumababy.app if you think someone else has access.

4. Families and invitations

Inviting someone into your family gives them access to every baby, entry, photo and memory in it. A caregiver can also edit and delete records you created; a viewer can only read. You are responsible for who you invite.

An invite code is a request rather than a key: someone who uses yours joins a queue, and an existing member has to approve them before they can read anything. Codes expire within half an hour and are single-use by default. Approving one is the moment access is granted, so treat it as the decision it is.

Removing a member ends their access from that point on. Entries they created remain, because they are part of your baby’s history rather than that person’s property.

If a family separates, whoever owns the account controls the data. That is worth agreeing between yourselves before you need to.

5. Subscriptions and free trials

Buma Pro is sold three ways: a weekly subscription, a yearly subscription, or a one-off lifetime purchase. One of them covers everyone in your family, not one per parent.

The yearly plan starts with a 14-day free trial. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends, it converts into a paid yearly subscription at the price shown in the app. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled; the lifetime purchase is a one-off and never renews.

There is also a second, different free fortnight: if you decline the offer at the end of onboarding, we give you 14 days of Buma Pro anyway — once per family, ever. That one is granted by us rather than by a store, so nothing is charged when it ends and there is nothing to cancel. The app simply asks you to subscribe if you want to carry on.

You buy through the App Store or Google Play, not from us. Apple or Google takes the payment, holds your payment details and issues the receipt.

6. Cancelling and refunds

Cancel at least 24 hours before the next renewal, either from Settings inside Buma or in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Buma does not hold the subscription, so cancelling from inside the app hands you to the store to finish it. Cancelling stops future renewals; it does not shorten the period you have already paid for.

Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies, so please ask them first.

If you are a consumer in the EU you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a purchase of digital content. By starting a subscription and getting immediate access, you ask us to begin performance straight away and acknowledge that you lose that right of withdrawal once performance has begun.

7. Buma is not medical advice

Buma is a record-keeping tool. It is not a medical device and it is not a substitute for professional care.

Wake windows, typical ranges, milestone ages, growth context and anything Ask Buma says are informational, are generated automatically, and can be wrong. Never delay seeking medical advice, and never change a treatment, because of something Buma showed you.

If you are worried about your child’s health, contact a healthcare professional. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.

8. Acceptable use

Please do not:

  • try to reach data belonging to another family, or probe the service for ways to;
  • disrupt or overload the service, or work around its security or its rate limits;
  • scrape it, resell it, or pass it off as your own product;
  • upload unlawful content, or photos of anyone whose image you have no right to store.

9. Your content stays yours

Your entries and your photos remain yours. You grant us only the licence we need to run the service: to store your content, process it, and show it back to you and the people in your family, including through the features you switch on.

We do not use your content to train AI models, and we do not use it for advertising. Buma does buy advertising elsewhere and measures whether it worked — which uses your device’s advertising identifier and never your entries, photos or anything about your baby. The privacy policy sets out exactly what that involves and how to refuse it.

10. Availability and changes to the app

We work to keep Buma running but cannot promise it will never be unavailable. Features may change, and some depend on third parties whose own availability we do not control. We will not remove something you are paying for without telling you.

11. Ending it

You can delete your account in the app at any time. That revokes every session immediately, erases your email address and push tokens, removes you from every family, and closes the account for erasure as described in the privacy policy. Your display name stays attached to entries you logged, so a co-parent’s history does not become a record kept by nobody. Deleting your account does not by itself cancel or refund a subscription — do that with Apple or Google.

We may suspend or end access for a serious or repeated breach of these terms, with notice wherever we reasonably can give it.

12. Liability

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Otherwise, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before it arose. We are not liable for decisions taken about a child’s health, nor for loss arising from reliance on the informational content described in section 7.

13. Changes to these terms

We will post changes here and update the date at the top. If a change materially affects you, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Buma afterwards means accepting the new terms.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Lithuania, and the Lithuanian courts have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you keep the mandatory protections of the country you live in, and you may use the European Commission’s Online Dispute Resolution platform.
