How to delete your Buma account

You can delete your Buma account yourself, from inside the app, at any time. You do not need to email us or ask permission. This page explains how, and exactly what happens to your data afterwards.

Deleting it in the app

This is the quickest way, and it takes effect immediately.

1. 1Open Buma and go to Settings.
2. 2Scroll to the bottom, to the account section.
3. 3Tap Delete account.
4. 4Confirm when asked. The app signs you out straight away.

If you have already uninstalled the app

You do not need to reinstall it. Email us from the address on your account and ask us to delete it, and we will confirm when it is done. Using the account address is what lets us tell it is really you asking. team@bumababy.app.

What happens immediately

• ✓You are signed out on every device at once — not whenever a token happens to expire.
• ✓Your email address is erased from our records.
• ✓Your push notification token is erased, so the app can no longer reach your phone.
• ✓The account can no longer be signed into, with Apple or Google or anything else.

What stays, and why

If you shared a baby with someone — a partner, a grandparent, a nanny — the entries you logged stay in that baby's history. They are part of your child's record rather than your property, and removing them would delete the other parent's history of their own child along with yours. This is the same rule that applies when someone leaves a family without deleting their account.

If you want everything erased

If you would rather nothing at all remained — including entries kept for a family you shared with — email us and say so. That is your right under the GDPR and we will act on it. Where someone else would lose their own child's history as a result, we will tell you before doing anything.

What we have to keep

Where the law requires us to keep a record — billing history is the usual example — we keep that and nothing more, for the period the law sets. It is not used for anything else.
